Bungie recently shot down the high hopes created by their Edge Awards acceptance speech. According to their recent update there will be no bots or campaign objects in multiplayer or available for use in Forge.

“There will be no insertion of Campaign objects, enemies or friendlies via the Forge as folks have speculated. There will be no “bots” added to the game. The “set” on Rat’s Nest was designed to appear like a backlot of a film set, a holding area, not some depiction of a brand-new feature that implements Campaign objects into multiplayer. Do consider this issue a closed one. Calm yourselves down, pump the brakes, and take a breath.”
Sadly, this is the final word but Bungie have not denied a fully-fledged level editor, which was about the only thing they didn’t deny. I hate getting my hopes up for nothing, but while they may not be giving fans everything they’ve ever wanted, the level editor sounds too good to care about campaign objects.
Some less interesting updates are coming on September 16 though and that will be new variations of maps integrated into playlists. Epitaph and Snowbound with no shield doors, a magnum secondary weapon for regular Team Slayer matches and Sand Trap without an Elephant are among the many small tweaks Bungie are making.
