Sega has formally announced that coming ‘late 2008′ is Aliens: Colonial Marines. In the game you play as a part of the United States Colonial Marine squad and “prepare to face an alien assault”. Gearbox is developing the title, they are the good people responsible for bringing us the Halo 1 PC port. I’ve been waiting for an Aliens game since Aliens vs. Predator 2 back on the PC and it looks like Colonial Marines will fill this void nicely.
There have been some screenshots released (below) and they paint a good atmosphere for the game. I’m hoping is a horror shooter, and if it is I’m hoping its done well. The game has a lot of potential and I’d hate to see it go the way of other shooters like Blacksite: Area 51 which outright stunk.

Finally, an Aliens based game that looks like a worthy followup to AvP2 (which although a great game, was sorely lacking in many ways). Too bad there won’t be Predators, but the screenies look promising. Any news on the game engine?

Where did all the info about the game go. There are allmost nothing on the creaters hompage about the game. And on the stores homepage youll just fint the text in stores somtime during Jan-March
and then a short text of the content of the game.
this is the only game that has a Big ? of its exsistence. why haven the game creater put oute some more things on Aliens: Colonial Marines homepage.

If the game doesent show up soon ill cansel my order. Im getting tired of waiting and not finding any new info about the game.
